Oh Crap! I Burned Dinner.....Again....

I keep my workbench in the kitchen. It's the only place in the house that my cats aren't able to get to. Since there are so many people who are allergic to cats, I don't want to risk sending any items out with cat hair on them.

Unfortunately, there is one major problem with that. When I go into the kitchen to clean, I get distracted and start making jewelry. The same thing happens when I'm in there cooking dinner. Which, of course, leads me to the title of this post.

Yep. I burned dinner... again.

Last night, I put the chicken in the oven, then sat down at my work bench. The common sense thing to do would be to set the kitchen timer. But, as so many of us know by now, I don't have any common sense. Before I knew it, two chicken breasts had been in the oven for almost two and a half hours. Needless to say, they were a little bit dry.

I don't think I could even begin to count the number of times something like this has happened. Thankfully, my sweet little daughter is very understanding about it. Although, she has suggested that maybe she should start cooking (she's only eleven years old, but at least she'd remember to turn the timer on *s*).

They Grow Up Too Fast

Isn't it weird sometimes how you don't see your children growing up, then all of a sudden you look at them and realize they aren't babies anymore? I see my daughter everyday. Hug her in the morning before she goes off to school, dry her tears when she is crying. We laugh and joke and play together. But I've always seen her as my little baby.

Last night the strangest thing happened. She was playing on the floor with one of the cats and I looked over and realized something. She has huge feet! Then I looked at her again and realized something else. It's not just her feet that grew. The rest of her did too.

She's growing up too fast. I miss my little baby. But I'll always love my little girl.
